Active Matter Updates and Post-Release Plans
The 0.4.0.x patch run, the launch-day Harmonization Cycle and Merits rollout, and exactly what the developers have promised to add next.

Launch day changed more than a version number
The 15 September 2026 update delivered three things that affect daily play: a new Harmonization Cycle began, Merits were added, and legendary weapons entered the raid loot pool.
Counting back two weeks, Gaijin was shipping patches roughly every other day, moving from 0.4.0.76 to 0.4.0.93. The changes clustered in two areas: the economy and AI behaviour.
As for what comes next, Gaijin has committed to “several major content updates every year” and said a detailed roadmap would be published “within a couple of weeks after release”. As of 16 September 2026, no roadmap page has appeared.

What Gaijin has actually promised
Ongoing content: “constantly working on new locations, weapons, monsters, game modes and events”. Several major updates every year. A detailed roadmap within a couple of weeks of launch. Past-Cycle rewards stay obtainable after 15 September. Audio work continues, with footstep audibility and directional cues called out by name. Server locations are being expanded. Localisation is expanding, with community-run “unofficial” localisation under exploration.
Why the patch cadence is worth watching
An extraction shooter’s economy and drops shift constantly, and one bad patch can devalue everything in your stash. So read patches for economy changes first, not balance numbers.
Going from 0.4.0.76 to 0.4.0.93 in five days shows Gaijin was still tuning the economy and AI right up to launch. That cadence normally slows after release and turns into larger, less frequent content drops.
Where to follow updates
Three places carry the announcements: the official news page, the Recent Events & Announcements block on the Steam store page, and the official Discord. Read them in this order — economy changes, then AI behaviour, then interface details.
Frequently asked
Has the roadmap been published?
No. Gaijin said “within a couple of weeks” and, as of 16 September 2026, no roadmap page exists. We don’t invent its contents.
Will there be a wipe at launch?
No. The developers answered that directly in a Q&A.
Is the Harmonization Cycle an update or a mechanic?
Both. It is a cyclical progression mechanic, and each new Cycle brings a fresh reward pool — a new one opened on launch day.
Do these patches affect what I already bought?
Patches touch the in-game economy — Credits, Prime, materials, repair costs — not the edition content you purchased.
