The full release went live on 15 September 2026, with four storefronts opening the same day: Steam (PC), the Gaijin Store (PC), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
It is playable right now. The Steam page lists 15 September 2026 as the release date, and the purchase and download buttons are live.
Two phases that get confused
Search for this game and you will find two different descriptions, and they refer to different periods.
The Early Version was a paid build sold through the Gaijin Store from 2025, before Steam and consoles existed for it. The full release is the September 2026 multi-platform launch, and the Gaijin Store continues to sell the PC edition.

What early buyers need to do
If you bought the game through the Gaijin Store before 15 September 2026, there are three steps.
First, link your Gaijin.Net account to Steam before 23 November 2026. After linking you receive the matching edition on Steam for free, with progress shared between the two PC versions. You can then play through Steam or keep using the Gaijin.Net launcher, with the same progress either way.
Two exceptions are worth noting. The old Premium Edition has been upgraded and renamed Deluxe Edition, and existing Premium owners get the upgrade free. Elite Squad owners receive the same-reward edition on Steam but without the two extra Standard keys for friends.
What else launch day changed
Launch was not just a version bump. It opened a new Harmonization Cycle, introduced Merits, added legendary weapons to the raid loot pool, streamlined shelter and inventory management, and renamed and upgraded Premium to Deluxe. Gaijin also confirmed there would be no wipe at release.

How to confirm availability yourself
The fastest check is the storefronts, not a guide article.
On Steam, search for Active Matter and look for a purchase button rather than a “coming soon” notice. PS5 players should open the Active Matter page on the PlayStation Store; Xbox players the Microsoft Store page. For the other PC channel, use the Active Matter category in the Gaijin Store.
All four are selling, and the content is identical.

Why do some pages still say it isn’t out?
Because a large number of reviews and forum posts were written before launch and were never updated after September 2026. Check the store page, not an old article.
Is it an Early Access game?
No. The Steam listing no longer carries an Early Access label; it is a released product. “Early version” refers to the paid pre-launch build sold on the Gaijin Store.
Was there a wipe at launch?
No. The developers answered that directly in a pre-launch Q&A.
Are Switch, PS4 or Xbox One versions coming?
Gaijin has never announced any. The supported platforms are PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
